MY BLACK
ALTER-EGO
The project begins at a black party in the "Womanhouse" exhibt from 1972. A party of strong women celebrating freedom and liberation. My alter-ego character is Josephine Baker- the first african american who became a star. An inspiring woman who left everything, followed her dreams and moved to Paris ,there she started to perform with a provocative never seen before show. I created a black dress inspired by her character and Paris in the 1920's, combining elements from Art Deco, The Eiffel tower and housekeeping wifes from the 70's.
